Personal Data we collect:
– name and address
– contact information including email address
The data originates from customers who request Safer Chimneys via the Contact form on the web site, by telephone, email or social media, to visit them in the course of Chimney Sweeping or other chimney related services.
What we do with the information we gather:
The necessity for data to be held is to enable a chimney sweep or other chimney service booking to take place, for annual customer reminders (or more frequently if required) so as to comply with the safety recommendations laid down by the Fire Service, National Association of Chimney Sweeps, Sweep Safe and HETAS for at least annual chimney sweeping. This reduces risk of domestic and commercial chimney fire and carbon monoxide poisoning and compliance with buildings insurance requirements.
In respect of each customer, at the time of booking a chimney sweep, a record is made on an electronic diary and our accounting software. This record is updated at the conclusion of the chimney sweep visit.
It is separate from other terms and conditions.
We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. This policy is effective from May 2018.
